The meaning of Del Cambio
Michelangelo Pistoletto
For Del Cambio Michelangelo Pistoletto has designed the whole environment composed of 8 mirror surfaces whose title is "Evento". The characters portrayed in the mirror surfaces are ordinary people who observe an event that is not manifest and who ideally enter into communication with the audience present in the room; audience that becomes the dynamic element of the work itself.
Izhar Patkin
In collaboration with the famous French porcelain manufacturer of Sèvres, Patkin has created the unique project "Ruins for Del Cambio": 200 "discarded" plates from the factory because slightly defective were customized by hand by the artist with a reference to the name of the restaurant and its history. The central gold motif was made with traditional technique on an original model of the eighteenth century.
Martino Gamper
Gamper designed the tables and chairs for the "Sala Pistoletto". The armchairs with their clean and enveloping lines establish a stylistic continuity with the original decorations in the same radical modern details. The tables, composed of different cuts of wood in an alternation of precious and poor essences, contrast the clear lines of the top with the fluid lines of the legs.
